Here is a guideline of the major outlets and how frequently you should be posting on them.

Facebook:

For operations, posting every other day is a good way to build an audience on the largest social media outlet in the world.

As GetSpokal.com states:

The verdict’s in.

Posting every other day will result in the most likes for your business page. Page likes help you build your audience on Facebook, so when you post, your post shows up in your followers home feed.

Twitter:

According to Buffer, a social media posting service, the amount of tweets your business should send out a day is three at the least. According to them, after three posts engagement increases.

LinkedIn:

CT-Social suggests no more than three times a day to be posting to your connections.

In order to keep your name in front of your connections, we usually recommend posting a minimum of three times per week, and up to 3 times per day. You could potentially post even more frequently, but a maximum of three times per day is probably limited enough to prevent the appearance of being a spammer.

Instagram:

Eclincher is a firm believer that you should on post on the outlet once a day!

Try not to post more than 7 posts per week on Instagram. There is an unspoken rule that you should not post multiple times per day on Instagram. Posting twice in a day is not forbidden, but one post a day seems to be the network norm.

Tip: Post behind the scene pictures of your company/employees. Customers love seeing what goes on a daily basis at your business. Instagram is a great place to make your business more human.

Google +

At most you should be posting 3 times a day, this according to Buffer.

The more often you post, the more activity you’ll get. Users have found a positive correlation between frequency and engagement. When posting frequency wanes, some have experienced drops in traffic up to 50%.

A reminder: these are suggestions, and that you may find sites that have other thoughts on how often you should post. The best idea is to find out what works for your business.

Conduct A/B tests and figure out how much difference in activity and engagement your business’ pages get in regards to how frequent you post.
