Video is predicted to be come a growing marketing tool in 2015. It seems that Car Rental is always lagging behind when it comes to social media, but if you emulate some tactics from Budget, then you might be able to be ahead of the pack this upcoming year!
At first glance, Budget’s YouTube channel is equipped with every practice advised by marketing experts:
The page has a profile picture (top left), header photo and external links on the bottom right of the header photo. The channel also contains a trailer video, which plays automatically anytime someone visits the channel and are not subscribed to it!
Of course, none of this matters unless there is good content that is useful to the visitor/potential customer!
While, some of the channel’s content is outdated, Budget is a great example of how car rental should use YouTube in their marketing efforts. The channel is mixed with commercials, but more importantly there are videos on how to reach a Budget kiosk at major airports across North America:
This is by far the best content on the YouTube page, and is really useful for those traveling through the mentioned airport. While that might not be completely relevant to your business, a video showing how to get to your rental operation from the airport might!
Not everything works the same for every one. However, that should it stop your business from creating a proper YouTube page and so at the very least come up with an idea that works, and is unique… and produce it!
