Orion

Way back in 1977, the Orion software was developed for Budget Rent a Car of Omaha, Nebraska, to run their entire rental business.

This type of technology was in its infancy and Orion, along with Bluebird, were the first Pioneers to develop and deploy comprehensive system programs for the needs of rental operations on a global basis.

Today, Orion serves an international base of Independent and Corporate vehicle rental companies, including Avis, Budget, Dollar, National, and Thrifty.

Their flagship products, Classic + and Car Sales +, offer both GUI and Character/Text programs, giving the customer a number of options with applications as well as hardware and local and wide area networks.

Orion's products and services are designed to give operators on-time control over all aspects of their business. From improving customer service to enhancing the bottom line, whether a single user operation or a large rental agency with multiple users and locations.

Orion continues to provide all the latest tools necessary for rental managers and owners to successfully run a vehicle rental company.

Orion also offers a range of electronic data and asset management products, as well as On-site installation and training, help desk support and custom programming.

As of May 31, 2006, Orion Systems is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bluebird Auto Rental Systems.

Full-coverage on-site hardware maintenance plans are offered either through the manufacturer or approved third-party companies.

Products

Classic
Orion's Classic™ software is a comprehensive package of standard and add-on modules designed for any user from small operators to those with large fleets.

Classic™ consists of a series of modules, some are included in the standard software package, and others are sold as options. Modules required by all rental/leasing com­panies are part of the standard release. Some companies, because of size and/or the nature of their operation, need features contained in optional modules. For example, our Advanced Reservations module provides addi­tional cap­abilities for local res­er­vation centers, plus an interface to receive and auto­mat­ically integrate res­er­vations from most national reservation centers.

The effective nature of this comprehensive product is the reason Budget Rent A Car and Dollar Rent A Car selected Orion Systems as the lead player for their national franchise and corporate location integration projects. Orion not only authored the code for these integration projects but set the standards for other software companies to adhere to.

By offering our Classic Plus software, Orion is the only major competitor to offer an alternative to Windows based auto rental management software while delivering all the functionality you need and expect. While any user of our software may operate on a PC, customers can also continue to use their existing dumb terminals and eliminate costly infrastructure changes.

Simply Classic
Orion's Simply Classic software is designed with the start-up operation, entrepreneur, independent, or small chain in mind. This scaled-down version of our Classic Plus software provides the cap­ability to minimize counter requirements, yet produce complete analysis and provide clean, straightforward audit trails. All you need to run your operation is inherent in the system.
